Die Laughing ("the Game", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data may be collected when you use the Game, how it is used, and your choices.
Summary
- The Game works offline. No internet connection is required to play.
- We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, home address, or government identifier.
- We do not collect location data — neither precise (GPS) nor coarse (IP-based, network-based, or cell-based).
- We do not read your contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, camera, SMS, call logs, or health data.
- The only identifiers we process are: an anonymous analytics identifier (Firebase), advertising identifiers (AdMob, AppsFlyer, Meta when ads/attribution are enabled), and a hashed session identifier.
- You can request deletion of any data tied to you at any time by contacting us.
1. Information We Collect
Short version: we do not collect your name, email, phone number, home address, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, calendar, location, or any other personal identifier. The Game can be played offline. When online features are enabled, only the data described below is processed, and only by the third-party providers listed in Section 3.
Depending on platform, build, and features you use, the following categories of data may be processed:
a) Device and App Data
- Device model, OS version, app version, and language
- Anonymous technical identifiers used for analytics, anti-fraud, ad delivery, or measurement (where enabled)
We do not collect precise or coarse location data, and we do not read your IP address to determine your location for our own purposes. If a third-party ad provider infers a coarse region from your IP for ad serving, that processing happens entirely on their side under their own privacy policy (see Section 3) and is not used by us.
b) In-App Purchase Data
If you make purchases, the platform provider (for example Apple or Google) processes payment data. We may receive purchase-related records such as:
- Transaction status and purchase token/receipt metadata
- Product identifier (item bought)
- Purchase timestamp and validation status
We do not receive your full card number, bank details, billing address, or any payment credentials.
e) Install Attribution (If Enabled)
When attribution providers are enabled, they may process data needed to measure whether an install came from their advertising campaigns, including:
- Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID, Apple IDFA where available)
- Install referrer information (Google Play install referrer)
- Attribution source, campaign, and click identifiers
This data is used solely for measuring install sources and is not used by us for cross-app tracking-based advertising.
f) Ads and Ad Measurement (If Enabled)
If ads are enabled, ad providers may process ad-related data including:
- Advertising identifier (for example the Android Advertising ID or Apple's IDFA) and app set identifier
- Ad impressions, clicks, views, and diagnostics
- Basic device/app signals for fraud prevention and ad performance
Where required by law, consent prompts may be shown before tracking-based ads are used. The advertising identifier is the only user-resettable identifier shared for ad purposes, and you can reset or limit it at any time from your device settings.
g) Gameplay, Analytics, and Diagnostics
- Gameplay progress and settings (for example wave reached, weapons used, run duration)
- Crash logs, stack traces, and performance diagnostics
- Anonymous usage events needed to maintain, debug, balance, and improve the Game
These events are tied to an anonymous analytics identifier, not to your real-world identity.
h) Optional Account-Linked Features
If account-linked features are enabled (for example cloud save or leaderboard integrations), provider-specific identifiers and feature activity may be processed by those providers.
- Platform identity identifiers (for example Google Play Games / Game Center player identifiers)
- Backend user identifiers (for example Supabase
user_id) used to maintain your profile/progression and leaderboard records - Display name/nickname used for leaderboard display
- Cloud progression/profile records associated with your gameplay identity
These account-linked user identifiers are used for app functionality and analytics related to game operation, and are not used by us for cross-app tracking-based advertising. If you choose not to use account-linked features, none of this data is collected.
i) Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you include, such as your email address and message content. This is used only to respond to your request.
2. How We Use Data
We use data to:
- Provide and operate the Game
- Process and validate purchases
- Deliver and measure ads (if enabled)
- Sync progress where cloud features are enabled
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and technical issues
- Improve stability, balance, and performance
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Third-Party Services
Applicable providers depend on platform/build and enabled features:
- Apple (App Store / In-App Purchases): https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Google (AdMob, Play Services, Billing, Play Games where used): https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Firebase (Analytics / Crash diagnostics where used): https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Supabase (cloud profile/leaderboard backend where used): https://supabase.com/privacy
- AppsFlyer (install attribution and measurement where used): https://support.appsflyer.com/hc/en-us/articles/207963658-AppsFlyer-Privacy-and-GDPR
- Meta / Facebook (install attribution via Meta SDK where used): https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local progress data remains on your device until removed by uninstalling the app or clearing app data.
- Cloud/account-linked data retention is managed by the relevant provider under its policies.
- Support emails are retained as needed to resolve requests and maintain records.
- Third-party retention periods are controlled by those providers.
You can request deletion of data we directly control by contacting: mladenstojanovicpo@gmail.com.
For account/data deletion instructions and request format, use: Die Laughing Account & Data Deletion.
5. Your Choices and Controls
- Manage app permissions in device settings
- Reset or limit ad personalization in platform settings
- Allow or deny tracking permission prompts where applicable
- Uninstall the Game to stop future in-app collection
- Contact us for privacy requests
6. Sale and Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We may share data with service providers only as needed to operate the Game, process purchases, deliver ads (if enabled), detect fraud, and provide analytics/crash diagnostics.
7. Children's Privacy
The Game is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to address the issue.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own by us or our providers, subject to applicable law.
10. Account and Data Deletion
Die Laughing does not provide username/password account creation directly in-app. Identity-linked features can use platform identity providers (for example Google Play Games on Android and Game Center on iOS).
You can request deletion of backend account-linked gameplay data through our deletion page:
https://mladenstojanovic.art/die-laughing-account-deletion.html
When a valid request is confirmed, we delete data we directly control (for example backend profile/progression and linked leaderboard identity rows) unless retention is required by law or security obligations.
Platform account records held by Google/Apple are controlled by those providers under their own policies.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at mladenstojanovicpo@gmail.com.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and change the "Last Updated" date.
13. Contact

14. Website Analytics (die-laughing-landing.html and related pages)
The Die Laughing landing page uses Umami Analytics (https://umami.is/policy) to measure traffic and link clicks. Umami is cookieless, does not collect personal data, does not use persistent identifiers, and does not require a consent banner. The only data recorded is:
- The page URL visited (for example
/die-laughing-landing.html) - The referrer source (where the visitor came from)
- The visitor's country (derived from the IP at request time, not stored)
- The visitor's browser and operating system
- Custom click events on the App Store and Google Play buttons, with the platform (iOS / Android) and the page section (hero, final_cta, mobile_sticky) where the click happened
No IP addresses are stored, no device fingerprinting, and no cross-site tracking. The same privacy guarantees apply to the rest of the portfolio site at mladenstojanovic.art, which uses the same Umami setup.
15. Platform Notes
Some services described above may be available only on specific platforms or in specific releases. For example, Android-only integrations may not be active in iOS builds, and vice versa. This policy covers Die Laughing releases and related support channels across supported platforms.
